This Payments & Refunds Policy outlines the terms governing payments made on RentRightGH, including platform service fees, premium features, and our refund procedures. Please read this policy carefully before making any payments.
2. Types of Payments
2.1 Platform Service Fees
RentRightGH charges service fees for certain premium features and services. These fees are clearly displayed before you complete any transaction and include:
- Premium property listing placement
- Boosted visibility for listings
- Featured listing status
- SuperCharge Search features for renters
- Additional analytics and insights
2.2 Viewing Fees
Some property listers may charge viewing fees to schedule property visits. These fees are:
- Set independently by each property lister
- Paid directly to the property lister
- Not controlled or processed by RentRightGH
- Subject to the lister's own refund policies
2.3 Rental Payments
All rental payments, security deposits, and fees related to lease agreements are transactions between the renter and the property lister. RentRightGH does not process, hold, or facilitate these payments.
3. Payment Methods
3.1 Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods:
- Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
- Mobile money (MTN, AirtelTigo, Vodafone Cash)
- Bank transfers (for certain services)
3.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways. We do not store your complete payment card information on our servers. Payment information is encrypted and handled in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.
3.3 Currency
All prices on RentRightGH are displayed in Ghanaian Cedis (GHS) unless otherwise specified. If you pay with a different currency, exchange rates and conversion fees may apply according to your payment provider's terms.
4. Pricing and Fees
4.1 Price Display
All fees and prices are clearly displayed before you complete a purchase. The final amount shown includes all applicable charges unless additional taxes are required by law.
4.2 Price Changes
RentRightGH reserves the right to change pricing for our services at any time. Price changes will not affect services already purchased but will apply to future transactions.
4.3 Promotional Offers
We may offer promotional discounts or special pricing from time to time. These promotions are subject to specific terms and conditions, including expiration dates and usage limitations.
5. Refund Policy
5.1 General Refund Terms
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Generally, the following principles apply:
- Premium listings and promotional services are generally non-refundable once activated
- If a service is not delivered due to a technical error on our part, a full refund will be issued
- Subscription services may be refunded on a pro-rata basis if cancelled before the renewal date
- All refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the original transaction
5.2 Refund Eligibility
You may be eligible for a refund if:
- The service was not provided as described
- A technical error prevented you from using a purchased feature
- You were charged incorrectly or twice for the same service
- Your account was suspended due to our error
5.3 Non-Refundable Items
The following are generally not eligible for refunds:
- Services that have already been fully delivered or used
- Premium listing placements that have already been displayed
- Boosted listings after the boost period has started
- Payments for services where you violated our Terms of Use
- Viewing fees paid directly to property listers
6. Refund Process
6.1 Requesting a Refund
To request a refund:
- Contact our support team at billing@rentrightgh.com
- Include your transaction ID and account email
- Provide a detailed explanation of why you're requesting a refund
- Include any supporting documentation (screenshots, error messages, etc.)
6.2 Refund Timeline
- We will review your refund request within 3-5 business days
- You will receive an email notification of our decision
- If approved, refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- It may take an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account
7. Chargebacks and Disputes
7.1 Dispute Resolution
Before initiating a chargeback with your bank, please contact us directly to resolve any billing disputes. We are committed to addressing concerns fairly and promptly.
7.2 Chargeback Policy
Initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in account suspension. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination and legal action.
8. Subscription Services
8.1 Auto-Renewal
Some services may be offered on a subscription basis with automatic renewal. You will be notified before each renewal period, and you can cancel at any time before the next billing cycle.
8.2 Cancellation
You can cancel subscriptions at any time through your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and no refund will be issued for the remaining portion of that period.
9. Failed Payments
If a payment fails:
- We will notify you via email
- You will have 7 days to update your payment information
- Services may be suspended until payment is received
- After 14 days, unpaid services may be cancelled
10. Taxes
Prices may not include applicable taxes such as VAT or other local taxes. If taxes apply, they will be added to your total and clearly displayed before you complete your purchase. You are responsible for any taxes required by your jurisdiction.
11. Payment Security
We take payment security seriously. All transactions are encrypted using SSL technology, and we comply with industry-standard security practices. However, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
